Penny Black & More - Black and White plus one

I'm here with a reminder for our challenge at Penny Black & More. This month we are looking for black and white plus one other colour.

I decided to use one of the stamps from the Penny Black Hello Gorgeous set and style it like a fashion sketch. First of all I used yupo paper and alcohol inks.

Then I decided to use brushos for this version.

Finally I made two more cards - the green one is using cosmic shimmer paint and the middle card painted with nail varnish! I've seen a fashion artist who uses nail varnish to add detail to their sketches and so it prompted me to have a go myself.

Thanks for looking if you've made it to the end - I did get a bit carried away once I started on this theme.

#83 Symmetry at The Male Room challenge

Hello and welcome to my first DT post for The Male Room Challenge where I am so excited to be on the Design Team. This fortnight we would like to see your "symmetry" designs for males.

I decided to use a die which has become a little bit of a nemesis for me - Spellbinders quilt die. I've only used two of the shapes and spaced the pieces out rather than butting them up together. In the corners I overlapped two of the triangle shapes.

I've finished off the design with a die cut from a set that came with my diamond press from Crafters companion. Cut once in black and once in white to place behind and offset so that you can see the sentiment.

Thanks for looking and I hope to see you over at the challenge blog.

Library Challenge Four - Memoirs of a Geisha

I think my enthusiasm for the challenge subject of this card might have led me to over design it, with four different stamps having been used. I resorted to my own handwriting for the sentiment or it would have been more.

After visiting Japan last year I have been amassing stamps with an Asian theme and was lucky to get all of the ones here preloved. So eager to use them and so here they all are! I did stamp the ladies along the bottom in Watering Can ink so they were greyed out and then went further by adding torn vellum over the top.

The card is for the Library challenge which this time is Memoirs of a Geisha and I was inspired by the cover and the book itself hence the use of the vellum.

Gummiapan and Maja CAS card for Swedish House Crafts

I'm here today with a Clean and simple card (CAS) for Swedish House Crafts DT.

I've used Maja Celebration papers with Crafter's Companion Neenah Desert Storm A4 card stock. I used Roxstamps - Nesting Round Dies - Pierced next to largest die to cut out the Neenah card, then cut out from that circle the Gummiapan flower lines die. Then I placed the flower die cut back into the neenah die cut. I used the flower die again with two Maja papers. Then I placed the pieces back into the die flower head, leaves and stem.

I used Roxstamps - Nesting Round Dies - Pierced largest die to cut from Maja paper and then the next size down to cut out and form a frame which I placed around the neenah card stock.

Finally I added Gummiapan Stamp - Text - Happy Birthday (mini straight hand) - it is so tiny and perfect for the CAS look.

A mountain drive

I've created this scene using Penny Black stamp set Gorgeous and the Christmas tree from the Wonder set. I don't think it's just for Christmas! and thought it went with the Penny Black die which I pieced together for a snow capped mountain look.

I'm entering this into the Stamping Sensations Challenge for "One for the Girls".

New baby

I made this card a few weeks ago but as I never blogged it I thought it fitted the current theme at Allsorts Challenge for New Beginnings.

I kept it fairly CAS by using Roxstamps - Nesting Square Dies - Cross Stitched dies for the matting. The background paper is one I have had for a long time from an Anna Griffin Collection but I liked that it was for a boy but not bright blue. The little die was in the Crafters Companion advent calendar that we got for being a platinum member last year. It's a lovely die and I used some of the duck inserts along the top of the card too.

Black and White plus one at Penny Black & More challenge

Time for a new challenge at Penny Black & More and this month we would like to see Black & White plus just one other colour.

For my DT card I chose blue for my other colour. I used Hidden Lane from Penny black and stamped it several times in black ink with my MISTI. Then I masked off a circle in the sky and using aquatints painted in the sky.

I think this would make a great Christmas card but also a lovely winter birthday card, so I chose the sentiment from Lace Delight which I stamped and embossed with white powder onto a die cut banner.

As usual we have fantastic prizes on offer and our sponsors this month are:

Penny Black      Stix2          Sizzix

It would be great to see you over at the challenge.

More ways with Gummiapan Diamond Dies for Swedish House Crafts

I'm here today with a post for Swedish House Crafts,  to show you more ways to use the Gummiapan Diamond dies. I can't stop using these beautiful dies as you will see in this post!

The card above uses the die as a window to see the beautiful Maja Design Celebration papers behind them. I also used them to emboss the card and then lightly dusted with ink. The words are from the Maja Champagne paper sheet 12x12.

After I made my shaker card a few weeks ago, I had some die cuts left over and didn't want them to go to waste. The first one was the waste die cut foam which I sprinkled with glitter and inlaid with silver mirri card.

I also used the hens net stamp behind the image but it is very faint. Here's a close up.

Then I reversed it and used the foam insert part of the diamond into mirri card. The sentiment on this one is from my personal stash.

When is diamond not a diamond? When it is a star! Here I cut up the diecut and made it into a star. I used part of the Gummiapan sentiment stamp to fit the theme.

Finally, if you are still with me, I made this card and used the diamond die inlaid down the side with holographic paper. Just love this new sentiment from Gummiapan and it inlays perfectly. I filled the holes in the letter with glossy accents.

Exciting news and Rabbits galore!

First of all I am so excited to be able to share my news - I am the newest member of the DT for The Male Room Challenge. I love this challenge as it has taken away my fear of male cards and now to be part of the DT is just fabulous. My first DT challenge will be in a couple of weeks.

Image result for watership downNow onto my card which is for the latest challenge at The Library Challenge. The book this time is Watership Down.

I've used the bunnies from the last issue of a magazine that they were free with. The background image is from a cdrom The Pamela West collection. Mounted onto a CE die. Last touch is an old sentiment stamp I have.

As I have used a cdrom and rabbits I am also making a second entry into the CD Sunday challenge.

Tilda with Gummiapan Sewing Die Set for Swedish House Crafts

Hi everyone,  I'm sharing my latest DT card for Swedish House Crafts. It's a card made with a few of my passions:- sewing, mini houses and art deco.

I used Galaxy Tilda xoxo - but only the top part of her and she's into sewing now! I coloured her with colour tint pencils and then used a little water to create a faded effect. For the bobbin, needle and the scissors I used the Gummiapan die sewing set. Isn't it just so cute? You can see the scissors on this photo below.

I cut the scissors twice, once from mirri card to make the metal cutting edges. The bobbin I cut from Maja Design - Denim & Friends - Leather. You can also see a little peek of a butterfly from the beautiful 12x12 Maja Vintage Spring basics - 6th May and again on the photo below.

Can you see all the lovely stitching on each of the layers?  I used the beautiful Gummiapan stitches nesting dies. These dies are an inlay die, they do not cut the shape. I used them with a square die cut all from the co-ordinating Maja monochromes 12x12 paper and the Maja 6x6 Celebration paper pad which you can see one of the art deco details from below.

So many lovely details on these papers and fab patterns too.

I couldn't resist sneaking these Gummiapan Houses dies into the bottom corner all cut from more of the Maja papers. I also used the flat sequins over the card. These ones are sold out but you could use the silver ones. The lace, ribbons and pearl flowers are from my own stash. Finishing touch some liquid pearls and white highlighter pen.

Here's a final look at the whole card again. The sentiment die is Gummiapan Text- Happy Birthday High Print.

I'm also entering this card into the challenge on Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia only challenge which is for anything goes.

March Rudolph Day

It's time for Rudolph Day and if you don't know what it's all about pop on over to Mo's blog for the rules.

If you follow my blog you may have seen this stamp very recently! Whilst I had it out I decided to go for another look with it, this time using the oxides in bolder colours against an embossed resist. I faux bleached the leaves and then painted back in with the lucky clover oxide ink. Instead of flicking water at the image I used my paint brush for more deliberate placing of the "spots".

Rabbit, Rabbit

I used the CC cdrom version of The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady for these cards. The image has a vintage look to it. I started with the topper and then tiled it in various ways, layering them up in MCS and printing out as a single one layer. I then added a tattered lace die as a backing and ribbon for the first one. The second one I misjudged the colour and when it printed out it was not as I had expected - however a happy accident as this cardstock seems to be perfect for it. On this one I added a Joanna Sheen daffodil free with her latest magazine.

The greeting I added using MCS.

As I used a cd rom to make these cards I'm entering the Rabbit, Rabbit theme on CD Sunday challenge - maybe I took that a little too literally lol! I'm also entering the Shop your Stash challenge for Easter makes.

CAS Christmas Card Challenge- Holly

I used a Sheena Douglass stamp set for this card. First embossing with white powder and then applying lucky clover oxide ink and silver gilding wax. I then used CE red pva glue for the berries.

I'm entering into the new CAS Christmas Card challenge for Holly.

Garden CAS Watercolour challenge

I've created this card for the CAS Watercolour challenge which this time is for "Garden". It's a little busy and I'm not sure it fits CAS but as the challenge specified it wanted to see more than a flower I went with this Sheena Douglass stamp set.

I used sparkle pens to paint the stamp and then sprayed with water to stamp, this mean that I ddin't have to colour this image as such, although I did add a little more colour to the fence and wheel. I cut the image out with a Spellbinder die and inked the edges.

I stamped the bottom sentiment in Archival Watering Can ink rather than the black I used on the image.
